Reserve Division

The Ward 3 Lake Charles City's Marshal's Office has a Reserve Deputy Program which utilizes 60 volunteers that provide security for public, civic, religious, non-profit and private groups. In 2005 the Marshal responded to a request from Mayor Randy Roach and Police Chief Don Dixon to man parade routes and benefit walks and runs with Reserve Deputies. This Agreement has resulted in saving thousands of dollars for the City of Lake Charles each year. A Reserve Deputy Marshal must receive training and qualify with their firearm on a State regulated firearms training course each year. For larger events such as Mardi Gras and Contraband Days, the Reserve Division works closely with other local law enforcement agencies to provide security.
